This crisp and fun ITH Spring Star Table Collection has a table runner, table topper and placemat designs. The pieces are all made and quilted in the hoop. The star blocks are made using the applique technique and the raw edges are neatly finished off with a traditional buttonhole stitch. There are no unsightly edges or frayed fabric with our applique technique. The fabric applique pieces are permanently bonded to the design using heat n bond or double sided web / Vilene. This also prevents the applique fabrics from creating those unsightly threads.
This project is quick and easy to make. A bit of sewing is required to join the pieces together and to add the backing and binding. The sewing is done with a sewing machine. Some sewing experience is needed.
The tutorial covers how to make the pieces, making the table runner, table topper and placemat. Templates for the applique pieces as well as a tutorial on how to self-bind quilts are included in the file as pdfs. Both the plain and daisy filled star blocks are included so you can mix and match them to create your own unique projects. The table runner can be made larger by adding additional star blocks, border and corner pieces. The pieces are all interchangeable, making this a versatile design set.
